Choosing a Kippah

Each kippah is hand woven using jewelers' wire interspersed with pearls or glass beads of many different colors and shapes. The center may be a larger bead or a vintage piece, or any of a variety of styles of Star of David incorporated into the kippah.

Attached to each kippah is a comb, with which the kippah will stay in your hair.

Because they are handcrafted, no two kippot are exactly alike. In addition, each kippah has three elements to make it different from others:

Wire Color

My original kippot use gold- or silver- colored wire, or they may combine both colors in a single kippah.

Stunning and elegant, these colors are appropriate for any occasion for which kippot are worn. They will sparkle in your hair and evoke comments and compliments from others.

I now have wire of other colors available:

Aqua Black Brown Copper
Dark Green Magenta Red White

You wear pieces of fine jewelry to complement special outfits for special occasions. Extend your jewelry to your hair with a colorful kippah enhanced with pearls or color-coordinated beads. Choose the wire color and coordinated beads or call me for suggestions.

Bead Color

Pearls - round, tear shaped, seed pearls, black pearls.

Beads - crystal, Czech glass, round, multi-faceted, multi-colored.

The combinations are limited only by what I can find from quality suppliers in New York City and other places I travel. My artistic expression lies in finding the right beads and centers to make each of my kippot beautiful and meaningful.

Kippah Center

Some centers consist of a larger bead to color match or contrast with the smaller beads woven throughout the kippah. Others have a Mogen Dovid (Star of David) made of metal, or glass or ceramic. Still other centers use a vintage piece. And, again, if you so choose, the center can be just wire.

If you have beads or small jewelry pieces (a charm, or pin, or single earring) with special meaning to you, I can incorporate those. And if you like my idea for a kippah but don't feel comfortable with the beads, a plain wire kippah is also available.

All kippot are approximately 5" in diameter. You may specify a different size.
